Getting a Legit Wholesaler for an EBay Store
Getting a legit wholesaler isn’t as hard as it sounds; in fact, finding a wholesaler can be incredibly easy. However, are you sure you want a wholesaler to supply your EBay auctions? The reason I ask has to do with the nature of the EBay selling environment. Let me ask you this question, “Is EBay a retail selling environment or a wholesale selling environment?” Your answer could have a lot to do with the success of your auctions and the amount of money you may or may not be making. So, what does this mean?
Here’s what I’m getting at. One of the so-called secrets that successful EBay sellers and EBay Power Sellers know is that EBay is not a retail selling venue. Where mass market consumer good are concerned, it is really a wholesale selling environment. Almost everything for sale on EBay is already at or below wholesale prices. That means that is you are buying goods at wholesale prices to sell on EBay, your starting price will likely be too high to allow you to make either a satisfactory profit or any profit at all. If you do careful product research, you may be able to find a market in which you can successfully compete with wholesale goods. However, in most cases, you see that your goods purchased from legitimate wholesale sources cannot compete because your competition is already selling below your starting price.
I don’t want to discourage you from finding legitimate wholealers, I just want you to be aware of the nature of the EBay selling environment and how this may affect your product supplier choices. I talk about how to find real wholeale products suppliers in my post, How to Find Wholesale Business Suppliers.
